Do you have broken relationships because of your uncontroled gambling? It will take strength and courage to own up to your problem and to admit that you actually have a problem to begin with. I hope you know that you are not alone and you don’t need to deal with this problem all alone. Many other have been able to break this habit and have experienced just what you are experienceing right now.
Recovery is not easy, but it is possible. Gamblers Anonymous was created just for this reason and if you seek treatment and stick with it, you too can straighten your life out and get back to a normal life. They offer a twelve step recovery program that is like Alcoholics Anonymous. Their support is free and run by peers along with a set of guidelines.
Choosing a sponsor is a key part of this program. The person you get will be a former gambler who can offer you guidance and assistance. This is a non-judgmental atmosphere where you can feel free to express what you are dealing with while at the same time receiving feedback from fellow gamblers. These people understand you more than anyone else can. There is also help for work, financial and relationship troubles that were caused by your gambling problem.
